Fun Dating Ideas

Dating can be so much fun, but it can take a lot of planning and a work to come up with the perfect idea of what your significant other would enjoy. This can be a hassle if you are not a creative person or you are just flat out of ideas. If this is you, youre in luck because here are some fun ideas that might make planning a little easier.

In Need of a New Date Activity?

Movies and a dinner are a good idea for a date, but what if the lady you are dating is more active and you know she likes a good challenge and maybe even some friendly competition. An active date might be just the thing to make her happy. Are you up for it? Here are a few things you can do for that active date-on-the-go.
Go ice skating or roller skating – Almost every town has a roller skating rink and some even have ice skating indoors in the summer. Most rinks will rent skates for a nominal fee and there will be a fee for skating. Nothing is more romantic than a skate around the outdoor rink during a frosty winter night or around the roller rink with the lights turned low.
Go hiking in a nearby park – You would be hard pressed not to find a park in your community. Take a hike through the hiking trails. You can even bring a picnic basket along but make sure you lighten the load by eating first and then going on your hike bringing some water and snacks. Be sure to find out what the rules and regulations are in the park and if there is a danger of wild animals that can cause harm, be sure to know what to do.
Does your date love baseball – Hit the batting cages and see who can hit the most balls. This will give you a little competitive spirit.
Go golfing – If you or your date are a little golf challenged and can’t take on a 9 or 18 hole course, go to the nearest putt putt course. Golfing can be a relaxing day to spend the afternoon and a fun activity when you putt putt.
Go snorkeling or diving – Go to the ocean if you live near it and rent equipment to go snorkeling or diving. There are some companies that will teach you how if you don’t already. You may have to have a certificate or license to be able to snorkel or dive so make sure you have that with you. There are usually companies that will rent out equipment if you don’t have it yourself.
Go Paint balling – Watch out gentlemen. Women have a vicious streak and it just might come out on a paintball field. Many indoor paintball facilities are starting to pop up all over and they will rent you equipment and overalls to protect your clothing. They will instruct you on the game and give you safety tips, so make sure you follow them.
Go Wall Climbing – Many communities are providing facilities where you can climb a wall as if you were rock climbing. This might just bring out the competitive spirit of your date to see who can reach the top first then repel back down to the ground.
There are lots of things you can do to satisfy an active date. Make sure to provide her with a challenge and you will be sure to be a valuable asset to her.

Active Holidays in the UK for all the family

We hear it quite a lot these days, the country is turning into a nation of couch potatoes; endless nights sat in front of the television and leading fairly inactive lifestyles are all not that good for our health. Although during the winter months we’re embarking on you wouldn’t blame people for spending the majority of their time indoors.

The summer though is a different story, the weather during our summers is improving and we can now spend time at home or elsewhere in the UK outside in the sunshine. Holidays in the UK have soared in popularity in 2009 and 2010 looks to be more of the same with many beach resorts and active holiday hotspots becoming incredibly popular to the point of having to tell UK holidaymakers that they’re fully booked!

There is one area in which the UK excels over foreign beach resorts and that is the variety of activities available, not only is there a huge list of activities from horse riding to go karting, but there are activities for any weather too! This is what sets UK holidays apart as there are plenty of activities that can be done outdoors as well as indoors like rock climbing. If the weather’s nice then rock climbing is a great way to spend some energy, test your limits and be rewarded with a stunning view at the top.

Likewise if the rain is pouring there are indoor climbing walls that provide the same challenges a real life mountain would provide but the added benefit of extra safety features and a more controlled environment (no foothold’s crumbling away!) making it perfect for first timers. By preparing for the worst holiday parks and other UK tourist destinations can provide just as much fun if the weather sours as when the sun is shining.

Quite often foreign beach holidays grind to a halt if you encounter rain storms, left to huddle round the hotel bar or condemned to your hotel room until the weather clears. Here in the UK there’s plenty more active ways to spend time waiting for the rain to cease and so makes holidays in the UK perfect for families. Also one thing to remember is kids will spend up all their energy doing activities and sports all day, if all they’ve done is sit around all day then there’s a good chance they won’t get to sleep at night and this means no fun for mum and dad!
